CLINICAL WASTE

COLLECTION
The collection is carried out by DHS.
DHS has its own fleet of very specialized vehicles, of which one is dedicated to the transport of anatomic pieces only, that are intended for crematorium. All our vehicles are equipped with on-board computer systems, start of our traceability system.

Our containers have a 660 litres capacity, are waterproof and, thanks to the yellow colour of the lid, echo the european code of infectious waste. After in-house sorting out, the waste is packaged, gathered together, put into our containers equipped with bar codes used for identifying and for our traceability. The collection is an exhange of full and empty containers, the containers made available are disinfected (see procedure).

TREATMENT
DHS runs a treatment unit that denatures infectious waste, with a capacity of 6000 tons of waste per year, appointed by order of the 6th of February, 2006.

hospital waste treatment

Since September 1999, the whole process is accredited by the board of experts of the Public Health Council of France.

This process, reinforced by a computer follow-up, allows to assure the traceability, at each step, of the products to treat.

Treatment steps :
1 -
The collection container is transfered to stainless steel trucks without any human handling.
2 - The stainless steel trucks are loaded in the autoclave for treatment.
3 - When released, they are directed by the conveyor belt to the disintegrator grinder.
4 - At the same time, the containers are washed and disinfected.
5 - When released, the infectious waste, which has become ordinary waste, is directed to the domestic waste incinerator in Saint-Saulve.

TRACEABILITY OF WASTE

The identification and traceability of the product are assured from the collection at the producer's when DHS is the collector, from the arrival on the site in Saint-Saulve when DHS is not the collector.

The identification and traceability of the waste allow :
- the unique and permanent identification of each product or lot of products : identification.
- to find, for each product, all of the information of the product regarding quality : traceability.

At DHS, the traceability is carried out by a computer system and the follow up of accredited notes.
The containers are scanned as soon as they arrive on the site.

The on-board computer systems record all the information (place, container number, time, date). The accredited note is then edited by the driver.

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND CREATION OF A TURNKEY PLANT

Its service goes from the place of production of the waste to the disposal of the residues with a permanent control of the computer.
The principle of the process is to transform this dangerous waste into inert materials that can then be compared to domestic waste. After examining the deposit in the building, DHS assures the waste collection and its transport to the decontamination installation. Its service goes from the patient's bed to the disposal of residues. The traceability is assured by the bar code during the whole process.

DHS also proposes technology transfer based on the model of its plant in Saint-Saulve, in the North of France. This technology transfer is carried out in France and abroad. DHS assures all or part of it : follow up, staff training, installation of a turnkey plant, after-sales service. DHS runs a treatment unit that denatures infectious waste, with a capacity of 6000 tons of waste per year, appointed by order of the 6th of February, 2006. The whole process is accredited by the board of experts of the Public Health Council of France.
